Music technology is an extremely useful tool for guitarists and songwriters to learn about and I can help! Having a decent sounding recording for your demo is essential for showcasing your music to people. If you're handing in a GCSE or A - Level piece then having some basic Music Technology knowledge will improve the sound of your composition/song, giving you a higher grade! Its also a fun topic to study,

MUSIC PRODUCTION / RECORDING: 

I can offer demo recording and music production tuition on Logic Pro X (beginner - intermediate levels). If you use Garageband I can also help.

This is only available to Mac users unfortunatley, but all DAW's (Digital Audio Workstation's) have similar features so you may learn a few audio techniques that you can transfer over to similar programs like Cubase/Ableton.

This music technology tuition in Logic X can include:

• How to find your way around Logic, getting used to using the main tools available and learning a few shortcuts. 

• Using Logic's instrument library, how to find MIDI instruments and using Loops to create music.

• Showing you how to programe & sequence MIDI parts on Logic's piano roll.

• How to programme notes in using a MIDI keyboard.

• Write & programme a drum beat. 

• How to record electric guitars & not annoy the neighbours.

• How to mic up a guitar amp (will annoy the neighbours)

• How to record acoustic guitars 

• Recording bass guitar

• Basic mixing techniques and using plug-ins.

• Basic vocal tuning tecniques.

• Gear advice, and how to set up your own mini studio for recordings at home.

If you're starting a music tech course and want to get a head start beforehand then this is a great idea! I have already shown a few students the basics of working with Logic X before they enrolled onto a production/sound course. 

Logic X is an amazing peice of software and definatley worth studying!

I can also record you playing guitar too. I have recorded GCSE students performances who wern't able to get a recording off their teacher. 

Or you may just want to monitor your progress, so recording yourself is a great way to do this.

Please note, I am not offering a professional recording service here. I do not have the equipment to record a live drum kit, however I can add programmed drum beats, which is fine for a demo.

As mentioned above, I can offer demo recording assistance. During this process I can help you arrange your song, sort out the structure, add any parts I think that may compliment the song and get you through any challenging sections that you are facing. 

​

In the past I have helped a few students complete their GCSE compositions, with one student being awarded an A* for his piece.
